9 Reasons to Choose HR as Your Career Path

The HR profession is not as common as other professions like doctors or engineers, yet it’s been influencing businesses for a really long time. There’s so much this profession offers such as career growth, stability, and decent payroll, that you can’t get enough of it.

Take it from a person who’s been in this industry for 9 years now and still desires to explore more of it. From being an HR intern to Sr. Manager in Talent Acquisition & Operations, my journey at Corporate Stalwarts, a leading Recruitment Company, has been a fantastic one. This industry has evolved me into a new person; a better one I must say.

But, this article isn’t about my evolution.

You’re here to discover the HR Profession and the perks of Choosing HR as a Career option. So let’s discuss that.

Who is an HR Professional and what’s the need

Who is an HR Professional and what's the need

An HR is a professional who is dedicated to the well-being and success of an organization’s employees. They are in charge of recruiting, training and managing the employees to ensure that the latter are happy and productive. They provide solutions to workplace conflicts and issues.

Plus, they have to observe that employees meet the expectations of the company. In simple words, they are the bridge that’s filling the gaps between management and its employees. Having a human resource team in the organization makes the work easier for employers.

Reasons to choose Human Resources as a living

Reasons to choose Human Resources as aliving

Here are my top 9 most compelling arguments for choosing HR as a career.

1. Progressive Career – The HR profession is full of opportunities. You can go for an intern to a representative, executive, and manager in various departments as per your interest and expertise. This job gives you great exposure to the industry and develops your skills throughout your career. And the job security you get here is phenomenal. No matter how much technology replaces humans, it cannot replace an HR’s intellect.

2. Great Incentives – Every job has a salary; some pay well, and some pay poorly. However, in human resources, you have the potential to make more money than your salary (which is also highly paid). What more could you possibly ask of a job, right? I have earned a praiseworthy sum for myself over the years in addition to my salary. If the incentives and other benefits appeal to you, you should definitely consider choosing HR as a career.

3. Remote Working – The one lesson the pandemic has taught us is the necessity for remote or at least hybrid working environments. Millions of people were forced to leave their desk jobs and struggle to make ends meet. For this reason, modern employees are looking for a flexible work environment. A place where they can work without being haunted in the future. You have that option if you work in HR. No matter where you are, you can deal with people and improve the business’s bottom line.

4. Influencing People – Isn’t it the best feeling when people around you or the ones who know you, look up to you? HR is such a type of profession. This career has a significant impact on people’s lives in a variety of ways. You get to give people new perspectives on their lives, mentor people in their jobs, advise them on how to manage their finances, suggest strategies for a flourishing career, and much more. And when you’re giving people what they actually need, you’ll be in a satisfactory position.

5. Vast Networking – In human resources, you get to meet new people with a diverse range of abilities and viewpoints. You can learn different tactics and productivity techniques from those professionals, and they can show you how to improve your skills. They also aid in knowledge expansion and may inspire ideas for improving your organization. Simply put, professional networking will advance your career.

6. Developing colleagues – The responsibility of developing team members and colleagues falls squarely on the shoulders of an HR. They employ various strategies and programs to help each employee in their company for their development. When it comes to challenges and bringing out their best selves for maximum productivity, HR professionals draw people to learn new skill sets. Numerous tools and pieces of software are now readily available thanks to technological advancements, simplifying the work of HR professionals. So don’t worry; you can manage each and every one of them without a problem.

7. Solving Problems – Building trust is difficult in a working environment. However, if you’re good at interpreting issues and providing practical solutions for them, then it’s pretty easy. Every worker deals with problems at the workplace. Identifying them at the right time, using logic to solve them, and looking out for solutions can lead to individual growth. And further, of the organization’s.

8. People Interaction – For someone who enjoys interacting with people daily, this is the best job. Here, your work goes beyond the screens to engaging in person. Most of the things at work need a good communication tactic, from figuring out job seekers’ needs to scheduling interviews, following up, informing newcomers of work culture, involving staff, and figuring out every employee’s issues. If you think you’ve got this, then the HR world is all yours.

9. Challenging Job – Challenge is a part of a job. Without it, there would be no desire for development, productivity, or fulfillment. Additionally, very few jobs on the market can match the rush that working in the HR field can provide. HR’s services have one and only one objective in mind: the achievement of organizational success and productivity. His job is to maintain a healthy balance between resources, money, and time. And to make sure they are used productively.

Takeaway

Takeway

Today’s leaders are smart. They are aware that they require an expert HR specialist team in order to entice the best talent for the expansion of their businesses. If you believe you can support the aforementioned arguments, you might be one of them.

Human Resource is a wonderful profession. There is a lot more to it than just hiring and training people. You’ll know once you dive in.
